We all know Friendship Day is 1st Sunday of August month, we all know Valentines Day is 14th February, and so on, but how many of us know Days that are related to our Earth, Environment, Climate, and Planet?

Today is World Cleanup Day 2019. The WCD 2019!

World Cleanup Day (aka WCD) is a global social action program aimed at combating the global solid waste problem, including the problem of marine debris.

And you now must have guessed what is coming along with this blog.

This I know, writing about shit is not going to clean it up. And still, I am going to write about it. And I want that my words make you take action. I have a dream to live in Clean India, and in Clean World. I have a dream that my future generations live in Clean India and Clean World, and that is why I will always talk about, write about, click, and find ways to change this shit into shine.

What the SHIT I am talking about? I am talking about The GARBAGE. The LITTER. The PLASTIC. The TRASH. The WASTE. And, how many names and types we have? Oh, and now you might have figured out that I will be giving so-called ज्ञान ie. Dyan, or Do’s and Don’t, right? The answer is Yes and No, both. After all, who I am to tell people what they should do and what they should not do. But, if it is about GARBAGE, LITTER, PLASTIC, WASTE, TRASH, I am going to tell, I am going to shout out what people should do and what they should not. Because very fewer people are doing that and for the sake of a good life of the very very large population, and mainly for the sake of our planet and future generations, I will do that.

When we learned A, B, C, ….. at an early age, we learned “C for Cat”.

But, I think we need to change that to “C for Cleanliness”, as our “C for Cat” along with its kitten is looking at “T for Trash”. What it must be thinking? Maybe, “how selfish people are on this planet, and that they live in clean homes but how unclean they keep the homes of those for whom nature is the home”. And, it’s all “A for Animals” must be thinking of how evil humans are.

A Cat looking at Trash must be thinking for it’s future generation as well.

This is a serious thing. We are covering our lands and oceans with garbage and litter. We are destroying the ecosystem and environmental balance. We are killing the future of our own future generations.

“Yes, we live in clean homes, where is the problem?” You may think.

The problem is in that thought process itself. The problem is ignoring that problem itself.

“Okay. Then give us the solution.” You may ask.

Is there one solution? No. But, I can surely say there is one person. There is one person who can take one action at a time if not many. And that person is “YOU”. YOU can change your thought process. You can solve the problem. Simple actions can lead to greater solutions. Actions multiplied by billions create impact billion times bigger.

“And, what are those simple actions?” You wonder, right?

Remember the Sanskrit Phrase वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम् ( Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam) which means, “The world is one family” and take actions aligned to this thought when you are dealing with your waste or garbage or things that will harm the environment.

Simplest action is DO NOT LITTER. If you see garbage on your home carpet or floor, do you keep it for days or months or years? No, right? You clean it up. Then why on the Earth you think that you can litter anywhere you want and leave the surrounding unclean for days or months or years? SO DO NOT LITTER, NOBODY GIVEN YOU THAT RIGHT.

And, KYW. Know Your Waste. Know what it is. Know where it goes. Know how it impacts you. Know how it is going to impact your future generations. Know how it is going to impact the planet. Know how it is going to impact other animals. And, if you are too lazy to know all this, then simply do not produce any waste or produce as little as with which you can deal with.

And most important. Teach your kids, “C for Cleanliness”. They will grasp the importance of it faster and they will embed it into their habits faster than we as grown-ups. Do the homework with your kids, so that you will learn “C for Cleanliness”.
